Conclusion
This website has highlighted the pros and cons, as well as the comparisons and contrasts of the education systems in the United States compared to UK. Most of what is displayed seems to suggest that the education system in the UK is better than the United States. However, depending on who you ask, they might suggest that a “safer” school is better. Another individual may claim that a school that follows a certain assessment criteria is a better school. Personally, having experienced one education system and heard positive things about another, it’s difficult to judge. Each system providing pros and cons in a world that different individuals require different needs.
Recent history shows that in regards to the safety of students, no matter the age, the United States shows little to no promise on progression. Their views on education after high school are complex in a way that does not pique the interest of students as opposed to students in the UK.
However, some of the facts on this site seems to favour the United States. For example, their private school curriculum seems to show much progression in relation to their public education. As someone who has experienced the assessments in the American education system, it makes sense to me, which persuades me to think that this is easier.
The even balance between the countries comes in relation to their considerations on supporting students from low-income families. Their views on “No Child Left Behind” come in the form of legislation and reports to support those students and their families.
Lastly, both systems have the same goal in mind. They want to prepare learners not only for college and universities around the world, but also to produce highly educated and contributing adults to enter the world and the workforce (Anglia 2023).
